Packaging round 1: what came back

Generated 2026-11-05 in Higgsfield (GPT Image 2.6, 2k, 15 images, about 41 credits total). Full-size PNGs are in renders/round1/, web copies on the site at /renders. Every render shows the Small (Bagel), Medium (Butters) and Large (Great Pyrenees) pouch of one line in one direction.

What worked across the board

  • Text rendered clean on all 15. Brand, blend, size tab, weight band, mg per chew, mg per bag, net weight, flavor and the four badges are all spelled right. These are closer to usable comps than expected.
  • The dogs are recognizably ours. Bagel's tricolor coat and floppy ears, Butters' shaggy grey fringe and tongue, and a convincing Pyrenees. The illustrated and stencil versions hold the likeness better than expected from phone snapshots.
  • The size family reads at a glance. Three pouch sizes, three dogs that scale with them, S/M/L tab in the same spot on every bag.
  • Jolly's structure is visible in every direction (top-right tab, centered stack, bottom count/net-weight pill) without any of it looking like Jolly.

Direction by direction

DirVerdictNotes
A. Stripes & panelStrong, closest to JollyReads as the "premium version of Jolly" a smoke-shop buyer will understand instantly. Stencil dogs are good. Four cream badge circles on a dark panel are the best badge treatment of the five. Risk: looks like the category, not like a new brand.
B. Cream & illustratedStrongest for pet retailWarmest, most "pet store". The illustrated dogs are the best likenesses in the set (Chill and Daily especially). Scalloped band works. The butter-yellow flavor bar and brown badge circles tie it to the palette. This is the one to take into the back panel next.
C. Photo heroBest stopping power, hardest to produceReal-photo dogs with the faint S/M/L behind them is the most modern of the five and the Pyrenees shot sells Large. Needs a real studio shoot of Bagel and Butters plus a Pyrenees model, so it is a round-two option, not a launch option.
D. Kraft apothecaryBeautiful, wrong channelWoodcut dogs and wax seals look like a $40 artisanal product and would kill at a farmers market or gift shop. One-color print is cheap. But kraft reads "treat bakery", not "supplement with a COA", and the small type would not survive a 4-inch pouch. Keep as a limited-edition or holiday idea.
E. Big typeClearest at distance, coldest up closeThe S / M / L hero is the purest expression of the size idea and would own a shelf. No dog on the front loses the brand's warmth and the Bagel & Butters story. Worth stealing the giant letter as a back-panel or side-gusset element in B.

Recommendation

Take B forward as the launch system, borrow two things from the others: A's badge circles (cream on color) for the back panel, and E's giant size letter on the side gusset so the S / M / L reads from the side of a shelf. Hold C for when there is a photo shoot, and D for a seasonal run.

Chill and Daily are the two cleanest executions of B; Mobility B's running-dog icon and the mid-stride dogs are right but the terracotta band could sit a shade darker to match the other two.

Round 2 (when you say go)

  1. B front panels as single-pouch hero shots per SKU (9 images), with the final dog poses locked: lying down for Chill, trotting for Mobility, sitting for Daily.
  2. B back panels for the Medium of each line (3 images): the Jolly-style back with our copy from the v2 brief, dosing chart, badge column, COA QR, UPC, lot box, "Not for human consumption" paw badge.
  3. A six-count display box in B (1 image) for the counter.
  4. One retail-shelf shot (1 image): all nine SKUs faced on a pet-store shelf next to competitor-sized bags.

Still placeholder

Fine print, barcodes and QR codes in these renders are decorative. The real back panel comes from the SVG system or Illustrator with a GS1 UPC and a live COA URL (see the v2 brief, section 5).
